While we are in the month of February, it's easy to think of Love. Many people think about the love between them and their loved ones, spouses, young love and even their families. Do we stop to think of the Love of God? That is the kind of love that even a single person would not have to feel bad about this time of year.
God's love, let's think about that for a second. Who is the one true love in our life? Who loves us more than we would ever deserve? Who is so forgiving, that he is so merciful to us when we tend to fail him at times? In 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 it says
"Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up. Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil. Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth. Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things."
His love is so empowering and gives us strength once we experience it. His love is perfect and unwavering to us. His love can't let us down and it won't fail us as said in Psalm 36:5-7 and therefore, he is fully trustworthy. The one thing to really think about with God's love is how he loved us so much that he gave up his son for us. Many parents could not even imagine allowing their children to die or to see them go through the worst that life can throw at them. God though, was willing to send his son to die for us so that we could also become his children. That is love beyond measure and more than words can describe. There are so many more examples and ways that God loves us. So, I will close with this... His love for us not only does all the above, but as our love grows for him, it allows us to grow in him and to learn to love like him. Once, we are able to have a love for not only him but his people, then it will be hard to not love your brothers and sisters. As we celebrate a month of love in February, lets celebrate a lifetime of love to the one who loves us the most!
